November 18 2005 - Ottawa - GenieView has successfully finalized testing of the most popular pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) protocols adding to the functionality of its GV1500 and ReconView products. The protocols tested support Panasonic and Pelco PTZ cameras.
The GV1500 and ReconView are wireless video surveillance products targeted at the law enforcement and homeland security markets. On the transmit side, the products are capable of interfacing with a broad range of analog NTSC/PAL compatible cameras, including infrared day & night, and now PTZ cameras. The transmitter captures video and performs low bandwidth compression and encryption. The receiver decrypts, decompresses and displays the received video. A UHF digital radio is used for wireless transport.
A recent survey of the target market customers revealed that GenieView's products fulfill all of the requirements from their wish list, currently not met by other suppliers, starting with the most important - a long range even in non-line-of-sight conditions, and including video encryption, low power consumption, and ease of use, among others.
"The implementation of PTZ support is a direct response to requests from our partners and lead customers.", says Ron Chow, the company's CEO. "We are working closely with the law enforcement and homeland security agencies on all three levels, local, provincial and federal, and going forward, we will be deploying field trials of the GenieView products with these organizations."
